Facts About Indoor Air Quality
HVAC duct systems need to be cleaned on a regular basis, usually every four or five years. At Southwest, we clean the entire air duct system to international performance standards established by the National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA). We clean the system from the point air enters the system at the return grille of the air conditioner (or in El Paso, the intake of the evaporative cooler) downstream through the duct, to the point air exits the system through the supply registers.
Facts about indoor air quality and your family’s health:
Fact: The primary means of transportation of air-borne pollutants is the HVAC system in you home or work place.
Fact: The duct system functions as the respiratory system of your home or work place.
Fact: When the system becomes contaminated or congested, it sends contaminated air into your breathing space.
Fact: Most people spend up to 90% of their time indoors, and indoor air has been proven to be up to 70 times more contaminated than in outdoor air. ( EPA)

Fact: Studies have shown that most indoor air quality problems involve the HVAC system.
Fact: More than 50 million Americans suffer from allergies.
Fact: One of six people who suffer from allergies do so because of the direct relationship to fungi and bacteria in air duct systems. (Total Health and Better Health Magazine)
